jeffrey harrison

Jeffrey Harrison was a Canadian oil painter who lived and worked in Toronto until his passing in 2024. He shunned the notion that paintings should have rules, and his works are anything but boring. Instead, he let the painting do what he felt it had to do, bending the rules of the medium to somehow make it work. And it did: The result was chaotic, a departure from the safety we've come to know in paintings. Vibrant colors, flowers, and fluid shapes filled his paintings, as if the amorphous figures were begging to be included, squeezed into the canvas.

His work continues to be shown at Dianna Witte Gallery, where he had been exhibiting since 2005.
